NTC introduced a new educational program last summer titled “Discover Transportation Engineering” in which high school students were invited to campus to participate in activities that focused on designing and maintaining transportation systems like roads, railways, and airports. It gives students the opportunity to explore their engineering interests by connecting with transportation professionals, and touring workplaces and construction sites. The 2024 program had the students meet with engineers from HDR, Felsburg Holt & Ullevig, JEO Consulting, Nebraska Department of Transportation, and Benesch.

Applications are open for the 2025 iteration of the program to take place June 4 – 6.
