All expenses will be covered by the Nebraska Transportation Center, except for a $30 fee when a student completes an application.

Discover Transportation Engineering is open for all high school students, from incoming freshman to recently graduated high school students. Come and find out why transportation is a rewarding career and how you can make an impact!
Experience UNL & Lincoln
Students will spend 3 days and 2 nights at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they will meet industry professionals, tour their workplaces, and participate in engaging transportation engineering activities focused on problem-solving skills.

- Networking dinner for students and partners hosted at the UNL Student Union
- Panel discussion with transportation engineering professionals in from public and private sectors

Off-campus Activities
- Olsson office visit, presentation and bridge building activity
- Nebraska Department of Transportation lab visit/tour, and construction site visit/tour
- JEO office visit, presentation, and activity
- Benesch bridge site visit
Students Stay on Campus
Students Stay on Campus
Students will live on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln City Campus in residence halls during the program. Housing includes shared bedrooms with one roommate and a suite-style dorm rooms with up to four students total. Room assignments will be made with roommates of the same sex, in accordance with the January 20, 2025, U.S. Presidential Executive Order, to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for all participants.
