Midwest Roadside Safety Facility (MwRSF) Post-Doc Dr. Tewodros Yosef and MATC’s Dr. M Umer Farooq presented at the International Road Federation (IRF) R2T Conference & Exhibition at Arizona State University. Dr. Yosef’s presentation was on the “Two MASH TL-1 Bridge Railings for Alternative Decks on Low-Volume Roads”, and Dr. Farooq discussed methods to improve crash frequency predictions at highway-rail grade crossings during the Road Safety Analytics session.
MwRSF graduate and undergraduate research assistants were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments at the Student Recognition Event held at Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed. They were recognized as recipients of the MwRSF’s Gold Star Award, scholarships, fellowships, internships, published papers, and gaining US citizenship.
Two MwRSF associates were recognized for their milestone years of service at UNL. Trevor Donahoo has worked at their Outdoor Test Site for five years, and Dr. Joshua Steelman, Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has been with UNL for 10 years.
